Speaker of the House, John Boehner, has officially announced his resignation, according to Fox News. President Obama has yet to make a public statement concerning the matter. If/when he does, count on me and The Huffman Report to bring it to you as fast as possible. Boehner will resign sometime in October 2015, but, as of this time, that date is not yet known.

Boehner has been serving in Congress since 1990, and has been serving as Speaker since 2011. When he was asked this morning concerning his impending resignation, Boehner had this to say, according to The New York Times': “My first job as speaker is to protect the institution,“ ... “It had become clear to me that this prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable harm to the institution.“
